Collection

In this section the visitor has the opportunity to browse through some of the archaeological finds of the collections hosted in the Archaeological Museum of Kilkis, forming, thus, a more holistic view of the region's rich cultural reserve. There are included finds spanning the period from the Neolithic to the Late Roman periods. They concern clay and bronze vessels, silver and gold coins, as well as marble and bronze statues and statuettes, and grave reliefs. The picture is complemented by honorary, dedicatory and grave inscriptions, terracotta figurines, some of which have an apotropaic character, bronze armour, but also bronze and golden jewellery, as well as a gold inscribed foil bearing the name of the deceased (Vottakos). These mainly come from cemeteries of the Kilkis Regional Unit.
